ActiveState and Strawberry Perl... both require installation on your system... binkd_nodelister.pl should just work but i'm not sure... some slight modification to it may be needed... Strawberry Perl says that it strives to be as close to perl on *nix systems... i don't know which way to suggest if one wants to go this route... 3. enable the WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux) on your windows install... i don't know anything about this other than it exists and a lot of people are using it to run linux things on their windows systems... 4. another possibility is to run a virtual machine with a linux flavor installed in it... i don't know how one would make their drives available so the VM can read and write files on the windows side of the fence of if this is even possible... seems like a possible security hole, to me... #1 is the easiest and i could do it... i just need some time to understand sbbs' hatchit.js tool and to get things set up... if i do it, there would be a new file created from the daily nodelist when it arrives here... but i don't mind if someone else wants to pick up the task... they don't even need to be part of the stars system... they just need to be reliable, get set up with vince as the maintainer of the I-BINKD FDN, and hatch the new files in a timely manner... if someone wants a copy of my version of the binkd_nodelister.pl file because they are in multiple FTNs and need/want to compile those other nodelists for their binkd, just ask and i'll send it over... binkd_nodelister.pl was originally written by Jerry Schwartz... there is also a port of it to php if someone would rather run php instead of perl... binkd_nodelister.php is what it is likely known as... i have no other information about it, though... )\/(ark "The soul of a small kitten in the body of a mighty dragon.
