Hi All,

DH> I think, after reading all your messages, we have a wonderful
DH> opportunity to restructure the file and echomail star system. Anything
DH> we do can be blamed on the necessary changeover! Having said that, I
DH> think it's important that we remain a "behind the scenes" operation for
DH> the most part. I'd like to suggest some next steps:

I agree.

DH> 1) Cross connect all of us 5 stars to everything, so we all get all
DH> echomail and file areas (including new ones) automatically. Let the
DH> software take care of the dupes and if you wish, run in pass-through
DH> mode -- as long as we send everything we receive.

I agree.

DH> 2) Make sure we all know the right keywords for each other's software.
DH> E.g., I'm using AREAFIX and ALLFIX (or FILEFIX) to trigger my
 DH> processing.

In my case it's AREAFIX & FILEFIX.

DH> 3) Let's talk about WHY we exist as a star -- what is our purpose for
DH> FidoNet, given that anyone can connect to anyone else? (I have some
DH> opinions, but I'll keep quiet for now! )

Let's discuss this once we are all interconnected. Briefly for me it's an
interconnected peer to peer redunacy system that ensure mail and files are
distributed to Fidonet nodes anywhere in the world who need a feed. I
personally would like to see a Zone 4 join in the future.

DH> 4) I'd like to just comment that most of you are far more technically
DH> competent that me, and I will gladly take advice on anything I'm doing
DH> here (but it has to be 32bit windows! )

Pass on this one, we all have strenghts and weaklnesses so hopefully as a TEAM
can overcome any weakness.

Terry
