honestly, there's nothing wrong with that, really... i mean, i use the last
one we've had and there's only been what? maybe 5 new echos added to the
backbone since rossC left and my system was promoted to star status? it is/was
quite easy to keep up with the requests in Z1_BACKBONE since there wasn't a
whole lot of traffic in there anyway... i'm not sure how far back my archives
go but i might still have all the posts in there since Aug 2018 or so...

DH> I'd be happy to get an updated one and implement it!

let's let everyone get connected, first... then we can tackle that... for now
(and these last years) i've been using the last one we received but i have not
manually added the new areas requests from the Z1_BACKBONE as of yet... life
has had me busy elsewhere for the last few years which is one of the main
reasons why i haven't been seen posting very much in fidonet since my father
passed in Aug 2018 and Hurricane Florence killed my old RD/FD/FE/binkd hybrid
setup...

[EDIT] the last backbone.na and backstat.na files i have here are dated 2019
May 15 and were issued by ben ritchey before he passed. [/EDIT]

speaking of Z1_BACKBONE, are we going to keep it or let it go and create
another one since this distribution system is now no longer limited to just
zone 1 or north america stars? this, too, can wait for carol and terry to
complete their connections, though...

both of them are set up here but neither has areafixed (or filefixed) anything
as of yet... i am seeing packets coming in from terry's system, though... once
i see their areafix request arrive and get processed, i will rename those bad
pkts and let them get tossed normally... as long as it is done before i crash
in a few hours ;)
