  I love a doctor with a sense of humor.  There are times one needs
to be serious, but there's too little in the world to laugh at nowadays.

  When my wife was still alive, just after we got married, I was having
enlarged prostate issues. My former PCP is a fellow ham radio
operator...who is now in his 70's, and still drives his motorcycle to
work every day.

  Anyway, while waiting for him to enter the exam room where Janice and
I were seated, we noticed a poster on his door that said "Ask me about
Viagra". So, when he walked in, I said "OK, Doc...I'll bite. What about
Viagra??". He quipped "I've had 8 men ask...2 women ask...and I
personally don't give a [expletive]!!". All of us busted out laughing at
that one. 

  I still have that BPH issue, and when the urologist was doing the
Digital Rectal Exam (admittedly, not the most pleasant feeling), he said
"there's your molars, your epiglottis, and, there's your prostate!" .

  At least it's not prostate cancer, but I have a KUB (kidney ureter
bladder) and PSA (prostate specific antigen) procedure done yearly...and
as of now, have a colonoscopy every 2 years. In the latter case, colon
cancer is the second greatest killer behind heart disease and breast
cancer...but it's also one of the most preventable.
