Our chiropractor told me recently that during his training he worked
in hospital with a specialist MD who described folks with chronic back pain as
follows (in alphabetical order):

               copers
               dopers
               mopers
               no-hopers


          I'd consider the participants here to be in the first category.  But
it's not always easy to explain, and IMHO he summarized things neatly....  :-)
