My limited experience with receivers suggests that the length isn't important, in terms of loading, unless you're trying to get a very weak signal on a specific frequency. If you cut the antenna to a "perfect" match on the frequency, it won't be right for any other and receive difference between the "perfect" length and a random length is negligible. Cheers...
