I don't know another "plain" text editor that does > that. Very useful to me every now and then. I just tested this and it works. You have to be in insert mode, so hit "i" first. Thanks for that tidbit. That can definitely come in handy! I think I've just used nano by cutting an entire line with the CTRL-A codes on them (using CTRL-K), pasting it again (and again, if needbe, using CTRL-U) so I have a bunch I can change the color codes on.
