This requires confirming the DOS version behavior.  If the code in the ref
actually works as intended, there's two possibilities:

1) A different getlines() that strips comments is needed, and some of the
things that call getlines() need to use the new one.
2) The thing that parses some values itself will skip comments, and the
multi-line command parsers will need to be updated to use a "nextline" thing
instead of fixed indexes.
