|    amazing programme about humanism    |

From: ralph@eddlewood.demon.co.uk              Tonight, at 8.30 p.m., there was an amazing half-hour programme about       humanism on BBC Radio 4.              The awkward and unhelpful title was "A human politic". Its proposal was       that, after 500 years in which European politics was based on humanism       (!!!) there were now some challenges. You can read about it (and       possibly hear it for yourself) at www.bbc.co.uk - it's well worth it.              The challengers were represented by an animal rights campaigner who       described humanism as "species-ist" and a Muslim who thought it       disrespectful to Allah.              They were quite well dealt with.              Enjoy!              --       ralph              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
