   It does. It is not necessary. There are other means than   
   violence. You are teaching the child that violence is an   
   appropriate solution to any problem. Children are for hugging,   
   not hitting.

   Any violent act against a child is worth of jail. It amazes me   
   that so many people are so adamant about their right to strike a   
   child. The only reason they do so is because they are bigger and   
   can get away with hitting someone smaller than they are. There   
   are far more effective ways of discipline than hitting. Learn some.
