   One could also add that many people who do go to church are also   
   nonbelievers and hypocritically only go for social or business reasons, in   
   the US or in many other even less tolerant countries, as you say, out of   
   abject fear.   
   I would hazard a guess that more than 50% of the worlds population would   
   admit to non belief if free to speak.   
   Is it, "A belief that dare not speak its name"?
