I was initially tempted to say this might explain why he has recently been   
   more full throated about his heterodoxy (e.g. maybe such was inspired by a   
   less than stellar reception from Aussie Shiᶜis?), but then I remembered that   
   folks in the know had    
   told us that even when he was making pretensions to Ithnaᶜashari orthodoxy,   
   he was merely LARPing online, without anyone knowing of him being part of a   
   real world community.
