That's you just being       a privileged kid.               Adam asked:       > > How many lower income people, or indeed       > > Aboriginals, were evicted or driven        > > out to develop those lucrative properties?              NUR replied:       > Ask Giron's Chabad friends in the GC who       > are responsible for all gentrification       > in that area.              First of all, we have yet another bit of projection there. _My_ ChaBa"D       friends on the Gold Coast? As a disclaimer, I'm not casting aspersions on       anyone visiting a ChaBa"D house, but what's at issue here is the projection.       Has anyone said they saw me or        my family visiting the ChaBa"D house in Surfers Paradise? No. Has anyone said       they saw Nima let a shliach wrap him in tefilin, and/or saw a relative of his       at precisely that ChaBa"D house? Heh. Well, let's just note that the last time       that subject came        up, Nima was quickly throwing out names of people he suspects saw such. So,       not my friends on the Gold Coast, but rather Nima's friends (remember: I have       yet to visit Gold Coast; Nima has a long history there).              Second, there was an attempt at a sort of tu quoque: even if ChaBa"Dniks in       the area somehow contributed to gentrification there, that does not exculpate       Nima's real estate flipping family from also having participated in that       process.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
