   I notice you did not address this salient question: if we were to get   
   extradited, the government which pays for our travel will also provide us with   
   legal representation, right? If so, why should we pay for a lawyer when one   
   might be provided to us?   
      
   This is precisely why the status of that imaginary extradition has relevance.   
   Why avoid that topic?
