From: henrynurzadeh@gmail.com              Wahid Azal isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. His psychological issues-the       root cause of his predatorial cyberstalking and cyberbullying as well as his       malicious libels--do exist with some degree of charisma, intelligence, and       facility with languages.        However, let us not overstate the case of his intelligence: the man has a       tremendously good memory for tidbits of information and languages but a       demonstrably inadequate ability to use logic whether in analyzing his own       statements or responding to the        analysis of others.               His mental illness, moreover, is predicated on assumptions that he is a child       of destiny or ordained by Heaven for great things, that the minute dramas of       his life (especially the ones he has instigated online) are signs of larger       cosmic forces vying        with each other in the universe. Our boy is a regular modern-day Zardosht       except not nearly as cool or wise since he took the binaries of the Persian       prophet and left out anything else. He sees government and corporate agency at       work and conspiracies        behind any person who dares to respond to his manic ranting and his libelous       raving. Not unsurprisingly, he contradicts himself in his statements and       recounts of who did what, when, why, and who they did it for and he cycles       through an ever-changing cast        of villains every decade or so, whose ranks are filled from former friends,       admirers, and well-wishers who come to realize how off the deep end he is.               Nima Wahid Azal has accused the religion of his birth, the Baha'i Faith, of       being a cult. I have no desire to lecture someone who had a bad experience of       religion while growing up and thereby became unconvinced of it and found a       more convincing narrative        elsewhere. That happens to lots of people from diverse backgrounds. I have no       doubt, as all organized religions do, that the Haifa based Baha'is who follow       the Universal House of Justice institution have their politics and problems.       In other news, water        is wet and organized religion has problems. I do however wish to throw shade       on Nima calling something a cult when he has essentially reinvented Azali       Babism (the tradition of those Babis who rejected Baha'u'llah (Mirza Hussein       Ali Nuri) and followed his        half-brother Subh-i-Azal instead.               I know of (nor will Wahid provide information about) any connections to a       living lineage and community of Azali Babis that he has been wel       omed/initiated into. From all appearances, he read the Persian and Arabic       Bayan and other writings of the Bab (       Sayyid Ali Muhammad Shirazi), was justifiably impressed by the writing and       charisma of the Bab and his immediate legacy, and that this proved a catalyst       for his blooming narcissism to see its mission and destiny as the successor       of/return of the Bab in        the modern-day -- perhaps even occupying the station Baha'is believe       Baha'u'llah to have occupied: He Whom God Shall Make Manifest. The Bayani       Gnostic Universalism that Nima has called his teaching in his self-published       book Liber Decatriarchia Mystica (       2006, I believe) is a reconstruction of the Bab's religion as understood       through the narrative of those who saw Subh-i-Azal as his successor and       filtered through Nima's fractured consciousness and overgrown ego.               At times Nima has claimed to be a Twelver (Ithna 'Ashari) Shi'ite Muslim and       that following the Bab was legitimate within the Twelver tradition -- a kind       of Bayani Islam evocative perhaps of the Sheikhi school of Shi'a Islam that       the Bab followed and        which laid the groundwork for his own mystical experience that resulted in him       proclaiming a Post-Islamic era and a new revelation. However, this was all       taqiyya as Nima at times in his book and again more recently has moved away       from using the monikers        of Shi'a and Muslim and is now referring to his religion as Post-Islamic       again(something that he has done in past writings also).               The Islamicate face of his made-up religion is what he calls the "Fatimiya       Sufi Order" in honor of Sayyidah Fatima al-Zahra (ع) daughter of the Prophet       Muhammad (ص), an international and syncretic "order" grounded in Islamic       language and terminology        but rooted in Nima's Neo-Babi project. Nima won't discuss the demographics       that allegedly constitute the membership of this order. He has alluded to       members in Europe, Australia, and North America. Simultaneously, he has also       claimed his "order" rejects        the membership of Americans (one recent post states this "ban" goes back to       2014 however I saw nothing about it until 2017-2018 when he began to receive       heavy pushback on his libelous mania from Denis Giron, Navid Nasr and Nathan       Abookire).              He has claimed within the past week that this is because of America's (very       real) White Supremacy and other toxic social and political structures. He has       more recently said he will not accept bay'ah as sheikh from White Americans       especially males or        Ashkenazi Jews UNLESS (to his credit he offered a nuance for exceptions) they       demonstrate they are not like the rest of Americans -- presumably racist,       capitalist, sexist, Zionist, what have you. Regardless of his true       motivations, the proviso amounts to        being willing to carry water for Nima, and refusal to do so or taking issue       with how he treats those he falls out with is enough to have one's character       assassinated as one is cast in with the Alt-Right, Fascists, Racists,       Imperialists, and other        unsavory characters.                      [continued in next message]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
