   It's true that getting all weirded out is a waste of time.   
      
   But words do matter. 'Believe me' (A trump term that truly doesn't work),   
   was a discussion at a dinner party last night. We had a quiet assessment of   
   the use of fear to try to manipulate people- and came up with a pretty great   
   list of other folks and regimes who have used the same method. We traced it   
   back to 1532 in history and literature, but of course probably farther back.   
   It was like having dinner with Ned making lists. Unfortunately too much wine   
   and a little (legal in this state) weed to actually write it down.

   methinks one might blame the universe itself for   
   people using fear to manipulate others since the   
   fears based on insecurities and survival seem to   
   be built right in, so society is simply following suit   
   in this regard. probably a much tougher row to hoe   
   to negotiate life paths based on complete fearlessness   
   since there aren't many concrete examples of such.   
   life path comfort zones are likely based on negotiating   
   fears and insecurities in order to survive.
