To use any kind of pointer for God, pronoun
or whatever, is a measure of total desperation,
as it points to something that cannot be
pointed to. As far as our thought and language
can carry, God is beyond them all, and our line
to God, umbilical or whatever, up and down, is
well described by Leibniz, Discours de

maintains and even continually produces them
by a manner of emanation as we produce our
thoughts. Because God, turning so to speak
on all sides and in all manners the general
system of phenomena that he finds good to
produce in order to manifest his glory and
looking at all the faces of the world in all
possible manners, because there is no
relation that escapes his all-knowledge, the
result of each view of the universe, as seen
from a certain place, is a substance that
expresses the universe according to that view,
if God finds it good to make his thought
effective and to produce this substance."
