   but even bodily suffering and pain can be ignored too.   
   in kriya yoga they talk of going up into the spine when   
   body pains bother you and there are also stories of many   
   yogis who voluntarily inflict pain upon themselves and   
   don't feel it. in recent times, prior to his passing,  dr.   
   david hawkins had several surgeries and voluntarily   
   skipped the anesthesia, and if they really did to christ   
   what the stories say he had to be ignoring the pain of   
   being crucified.
