Invoking such a view may suggest a principle
as being what one's true self is.

That by which the aggregates conglomerate.
   Also known as atman.

Being identical with brahman, as impersonal,
as the ground of being, can be such a principle.

I don't know if classical Buddhism subscribes
to there being any such eternal or permanent
you in terms of bein that principle.

In my understanding, there is no eternal/real you
given a Buddhist paradigm. Hence it solves all
of the problems associated with reincarnation
by dissolving them in a swell foop.

Exactly how to articulate, for Tang's book, the Form
or Structure or what ever he cares to name it as being,
that encompasses both Hinduism and Buddhism seams
its way warping and woofing as his whole cloth.
