   I failed again, and will now wait until 8:30 a.m. tomorrow   
   before trying again. New/dark moon is at 8:27 a.m., and   
   the maximum of the partial solar eclipse is at 7:53 a.m.   
   with a coverage of 85.4% of the sun at that time, but it   
   is supposed to be mostly cloudy, but I will probably notice   
   the decrease in light through my bedroom window (however   
   I don’t have any eclipse glasses so won’t look at it if it   
   does happen to show through any gap in the clouds).   
   I guess Raven will be munching on the sun. :-)
