|    Twelve Days of Xmas - Day 5 Evolution    |
|    21 Dec 14 14:15:26    |
XPost: alt.atheism, alt.talk.creationism       From: Budikka1@netscape.net              The twelve days of Xmas actually start on Xmas day, but this is a       countdown to Xmas showing why the young-Earth creationists are clueless.              Consider the cuckoo. Thus is fraud at its worst, and according to the       creationists, their god created this creature as it is now, and turned it       loose. The cuckoo lays its eggs in the nest of another species of bird.       The eggs look just like the bird's own eggs.              Different species of cuckoo prey upon different species of bird, and       their adaptation is remarkable. This is how evolution works.              The problem for the creationists is that they have, as usual, no       explanation as to why what they claim is a loving, just, and fair god       would even consider creating a species which preys on others in this       manner, a free-loader, laying its eggs in the nest of others so it has to       do no work.              When the cuckoo hatches - which it typically does before the birds own       eggs hatch - it "murders" the other birds by pushing their eggs out of       the nest so it gets all of the adoptive mother's attention. The       creationist god created these birds too dumb to really figure out what       happened.              Is that the kind of "loving", "long-suffering" god you want to worship?       One how not only allows injustice, but who deliberately creates it? Is       this even the kind of a jerk of a god you want to believe in?              Even if this god were real and not patent fakery, you could count me out       of that kind of worship.              Budikka - highlighting the 'mental' in fundamentalism.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
