   I believe that notoungulates and litopterns are hoofed   
   stem-perissodactyls. If chalicotheres are primitively clawed, this   
   requires convergence in Hippomorpha, Ceratomorpha,   
   Notoungulata/Litopterna, and possibly other groups.
