   general.  The creationists want it to exist so they have some excuse for   
   trying to teach their religious beliefs as equivalent in the science   
   class, but the fact is that what they want to teach is not science, and   
   they would be lying to the students about it if they taught it.  Their   
   religious beliefs are not taught as science because science excludes non   
   natural causes, but because it just is not science, and in this country   
   you can't promote one religion over any other in public education.  The   
   Supreme court ruled that valid creation science could be taught in the   
   public schools if any was ever produced, but nothing that they had at   
   that time was considered to be valid science.  They also noted that   
   creationism could be taught in the public schools as part of comparative   
   religion class as long as other religious beliefs were fairly treated.   
   The dishonest creationist faction that still wants to teach the junk do   
   not want to teach a comparative religion class because their religious   
   beliefs are the only ones that they want their kids to be exposed to.   
      
   That is how pathetic and dishonest the current teach ID scam is.   
   Biblical creationism can already be taught in the public schools, but   
   they would have to teach it honestly and fairly, and that is something   
   that the ID perps and their supporters are unwilling to do.
