   Edwards vs Aguillard was in 1987 and should have ended the creationist   
   stupidity, but I started reading TO in 1993 as a post doc in Michigan   
   because the CRS (the ICR was an offshoot of the CRS) was based there and   
   they were still trying to get scientific creationism into the public   
   schools.  The name change from creationism to intelligent design in the   
   drafts of the book "Of Pandas and People" would occur in 1987.  In   
   response to one of my letters to the editor in the local paper a   
   creationist that wanted to teach the junk in the public schools sent me   
   a copy of "Of Pandas and People" and the Jehovah's witness Blue book as   
   evidence that creation science existed to teach in the public schools (I   
   still have both, but they are boxed up in my garage).  "Of Pandas and   
   People" was being used to support scientific creationism in 1993, and   
   the ID scam unit would not exist until 1995.
