   Yes. In hospices the patients often get pre-dinner and pre-lunch alcoholic   
   drinks.   
   Even on standard wards long-stay patients will also be given alcohol on   
   occasions. I've certainly seen patients being given cans of beer as part of   
   hospital catering.
