An excellent question. Murder for hire? Kidnapping? Child slave labor?
High seas piracy? Small arms dealing? Kiddie porn? Congressman?

All the above "occupations" except one have something in common:
they all have an identifiable victim, the exception of course being our
   small arms dealer.

What did "evil" paramilitaries do before drugwar profits? My guess is
that only those who have a loyal, supportive fan-base would ever rise
to such a level of power. There may be a few stragglers who don't want
to let go of their little empires, but I believe it was the U.S. government
who wrote a $50 million check to the Taliban right before 911. Before
that, oil profits kept them living pretty large. I think there's some oil
buried down in South America too. Perhaps the smart cartels will sink
their pre-legalization profits into some drills and pumps? Those who
don't could very well be risking their organization's very existence.

Did evil men create drug profits?
Or did drug profits create evil men?
