I bought something and in San Francisco in California we pay
sales taxes. It took me six months to save the money I spent on
this new computer and I doubled the taxes I pay when bought it.
Funny that it didn't cost that much but the taxes both sales and
fees really brought the prices up. But I have a decent computer
working very nicely right now. And the best thing is that I am
not paying interest on the money to the bank card I hold.
Interest payments are more deadly than taxes IMO.
I think we need to pay more taxes. We started a war
or two in the last 10 years though we worked up to it over
a long time. We forgot to raise the taxes to pay for that war
or two at the time so we should be raising the taxes on
everything that uses energy because it is a war over energy
and we didn't even get the energy they promised us.
Meantime middle class people have lost family members
to the war and we other citizens who could afford to never
were even hit in the wallet.
If we want to run an Imperial military we should be
ready to pay up to 50% taxes on ordinary income and
on higher incomes up to 90%. Take a look at WW II tax
levels and how high taxes were spent after the war to
raise the educational levels for the veterans.

It ain't a popular stance but higher taxes are better
for the USA. We eat too much and drive too much so
we need food rationing and fuel rationing for private
individuals. If we cannot have the rationing then we
need taxes so we don't have as much money to waste
on food and recreational operation of vehicles.

Fat citizens and fat-headed citizens) = weak nation.
