   You could argue that if you had any evidence for it. And then we'd   
   have left behind your original question, about the advantages and   
   disadvantages of the status quo versus legalization, and started on a   
   discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of some hypothetical   
   severe crackdown ... at which point I'd note that since even Iran and   
   China have drug problems, no free society will ever eliminate them.   
      
   No society can stop peole from doing what they want to do.  That is why you   
   will always have a drug problem, you will always have someone drinking   
   alcohol, you will always have someone committing crimes.
