   Marijuana is less harmful than potatoes, aspirin, alcohol, tobacco, swimming   
   pools, and lots of other things.   
      
   If marijuana weren't illegal, it could be legally prescribed for a host of   
   diseases and disablements that it can safely treat.  As it is, many states   
   now allow -- under state law -- the dispensing of marijuana for many medial   
   conditions, despite the federal claim that it has "no medical use".   
      
   And as a recreational substance, it is far safer than many recreational   
   activities that are quite legal.
