   	Actually you should read Really the Blues by Milton Mezzrow   
   aka the Mess, who dealt the Mighty Mezz to other Jazz men in the   
   Pre-WW II days and who wrote the book after his bus and after   
   doing time in a nasty drug hospital.   
   	He thought it was a very bad law but until he got   
   busted he didn't think about it much.  He was sent up as an   
   example to the people in the segment of the entertainment   
   industry he had worked with,   
   	They had to be stopped because they let black men,   
   Jewish men and others mix together, form orchestras and play   
   music with a devilish flair.  Heaven save us! and when   
   Jazz succeeded in becoming the American Music they still   
   persecuted its practitioners.
