From: jesus475073@webtv.net              I liked this post except i deleted the pro-euthanasia parts as total       Kavorkianism!       ==================================       TENT Cities       Group: news:alt.politics.democrat Date: Fri, Aug 12, 2011, 6:26am       (EDT-3) From: williamchung@hushmail.com       I am not going to put blame on any political party: I'm simply going to       state how things are today.              1) First of all, GDP has no real growth: the current growth of about 2%       per year is just proportional to population growth and not the result of       actual increase in per capita GDP.              2) If you consider the real unemployment rate, which is a combination of       unemployed people looking for work, unemployed people who have given up       looking for work, people working part-time who want a full time job, and       the homeless population, then unemployment is actually around 20%.              3) We get about 2.5 million new immigrants every year, so any new       domestic jobs created each month are cancelled out by this population       growth. This is why the unemployment rate       remains steady.              4) Millions of jobs are constantly being sent out of country because       people living in third world nations are willing to work for wages such       as $1.00 per hour, 80 hours per week, with no health benefits or any       other benefits, and no safety infrastructures and policies.              5) The economically disadvantaged population growth is much higher than       the economically advantaged population growth, increasing overall       poverty and public funding costs to provide services.              6) Foreign companies are making up a larger and larger percentage of the       international market share, while American companies are losing market       share.              7) With the current budget plans being pushed by Congress and the White       House, huge cuts will be made to Social Security, Medicare, Welfare, and       many other social services.               Because of the above facts, we currently have about 26 million homeless       people in America, and this number is going to grow by enormous amounts       in the next few years. So, what we need is a way to reduce the suffering       of all these homeless people. For example, we need to enact laws       protecting tent cities, allowing them to form more freely.               Keep in mind that YOU will most likely become homeless within the next       ten years, so you need to plan ahead!              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
