   If you can't mount a rational argument based on facts just say so. The

   Every country in the world has criminals. In fact the rates of most crimes   
   in the US are comparable to the rates in other developed Western countries.   
   What is radically different in the US is the availability of guns and the   
   level of lethal violence involving guns. "Common sense" sees a connection   
   between availability and use, and statistical studies confirm a correlation   
   between availability and homicide/suicide . "Common sense" says that the   
   availability of guns is a major part of the problem.   
      
   Less than a quarter of US firearm homicides in 2005 were known to have been   
   commited during another felony or associated with other criminal activity.   
   The rest, where circumstances were known, were domestic disputes,  romantic   
   triangles, etc but mostly arfguments that turned into a homicide when a gun   
   was available and used.
