      XPost: alt.history.abe-lincoln, sac.politics, soc.culture.african.american       XPost: stl.general       From: lincoln.failures.2026@splcenter.org              POTOSI, Mo. — A Potosi woman and her boyfriend are facing 12 charges       each after police said they abused her children.              According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, the abuse included       locking them in a chicken coop and shooting at them with air rifles. 5       On Your Side is not naming the suspects to avoid identifying the child       victims.              According to charging documents, the incidents happened between January       of 2023 and December of 2025 at the woman's home. Other incidents       included forcing two of the children to try methamphetamine, beating       them and throwing rocks at them. The charging documents said the       boyfriend also pointed a gun at two of the children and threatened to       kill them.              The woman is also accused of groping one of the children against the       child's will.              The sheriff's department said the couple also organized a "fight night"       birthday party during which children were forced to fight each other.              The woman is charged with four counts of child abuse, three counts of       endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of kidnapping, two counts       of domestic assault and one count of sexual abuse. The boyfriend is       charged with three counts of domestic assault, two counts each of abuse       or neglect of a child, kidnapping, endangering the welfare of a child       and armed criminal action and one count of unlawful use of a weapon.              Deputies executed a search warrant on Tuesday and took the woman and her       boyfriend into custody.
