   *I* never offered a citation of any type.  I have seen NNTP do some   
   strange things.  I deny any responsibility for what happens within the   
   protocol.  It's an ancient protocol, probably the earliest still in   
   use... predating TCP/IP, where it became part of the suite sometime in   
   the '80s.  It's as close to being untraceable as network traffic can   
   get.   
      
   So, you're on your own, Bubba; I'll let you dig through the server   
   logs.  I don't have a clue and less interest.
