   >"What we see all over the country, save a few sanctuary cities like
   Minneapolis,
   >is we see cooperation and support," [Deputy Attorney General Todd] Blanche
   said.
   >"We deport 10 times the number of illegal aliens out of Texas than we do out
   of
   >Minneapolis. Why do we hear nothing out of Texas about any of the same
   problems
   >that we have in Minneapolis? I'll tell you why. Because in Texas, we have the
   >cooperation and support of local law enforcement so that we can do these
   >operations safely, keeping U.S. citizens and others protected and safe. That
   is
   >not what we have in Minneapolis."
   >I'd apply it to most of the United States, those states that don't call
   >themselves "sanctuaries."
   >The least favorable I can find is the YouGov, which puts the number at 60%.
   >Three out of five ain't good, but it's not three out of four. There's a lot of
   >time before November, and deporting illegal aliens is what the public wants.

   >"A New York Times-Siena poll in September 2025 found that 54% strongly or
   >somewhat support 'deporting immigrants living in the United States illegally
   >back to their home countries.' A Harvard-Harris poll in December 2025 asked
   the
   >question two ways. It found that 80% support 'deporting immigrants who are
   here
   >illegally and have committed crimes,' while 54% support 'deporting all
   >immigrants who are here illegally.' Going back to January 2025, an Ipsos-Axios
   >poll found that 66% supported 'deporting immigrants who are in the country
   >illegally.'"

Dallas actually has more immigrants than Minneapolis. The reason "the
good people of Dallas don't attack federal LEOs enforcing the laws
Congress passed" is because they aren't in Dallas in any significant
numbers. They have a field office in Dallas. The only reason I know
this is because someone took a few shots at 'em a few weeks ago and it
was on the news. It's not comparable. Personally, I have never seen
an ICE agent in Dallas. If I went to Austin, I'd see 'em because
   that's a Democratic stronghold.

The cities do not have to cooperate with and support federal activity.
There will come a day when the fed picks up the guns. Would you
   cooperate then?

The poll you cite (I didn't read it) was conducted in August and
published in September. Check out a January, 2026 poll; for example:

There isn't a clean "3 out of 4" right on top. As Disraeli said:
"liars, damned liars, and statistics". It's there if you dig. Most
   Americans are not optimistic.

Personally, *I* have been lucky. My stock portfolio has done well for
half a century and I inherited a tidy sum a few years back, so, with
the Donald's "policies" structured for the wealthy, my portfolio is
making money faster than I can spend it. (I do not claim to be a
financial wizard!) A couple of kids starting out saving for their
first crack at home ownership are in for a rough ride, though. For
the average guy (whoever *he* is), the prices are outrunning his
paycheck. If you're in the top 5%, you're doing A-OK.
