From: x@y.com              ICE should get rid of their face masks because the optics are a huge       liability for the Delta Tango party. One of the agents was recently       caught on a hot mic quipping: "This is just like 'Call of Duty'," (a       reference to a popular video game.) The agent was correct in that       their tactical costumes seem to have been inspired by the avatars in       violent video games, including the full face masks. The political       enablers of ICE say that the masks are needed to protect the agents'       identities because they might be exposed to retaliation.              In total, the masks are a big loser for the DT party because of their       optics. A masked figure in black tactical gear is, by design,       intimidating. They look like avatars in a video game and are not seen       as human beings. The images that are burned into our consciousness       daily are of masked... (what noun should I use here?) ... masked       avatars? The administration tries to blame it on the people who were       shot or governors and mayors; however, we might see that clip once.       On the other hand, I have no idea how many times and from how many       different angles I have seen masked, jack-booted ICE agents standing       in a semicircle firing their weapons repeatedly into Alex Pretti's       lifeless body. We watched in horror as the five-year-old toddler was       dragged out of a car in his driveway away from his tearful mother as       she begged the agents not to take him away. Nobody hears the       rationale of their position when the optics are so damning!              People won't remember the explanations. People will definitely       remember the scene after scene of masked ICE agents beating people to       the pavement. That plays to the gut! You can't "un-see" that!              Of course, if you're Don Lemon, the avatars handcuffing you on the set       of the Grammy Awards as the cameras rolled just made your career.       Similarly, if you want to see the DT enablers lose badly in the       November elections, then you hope they'll keep wearing the masks and       breaking down the doors of US citizens' homes.              " Ah! well a-day! what evil looks        Had I from old and young!        Instead of the cross, the Albatross        About my neck was hung.
