       New York's 3 main sources of electricity come from natural   
       gas, hydroelectric power, and nuclear power. However, the   
       state's solar power capacity has grown over 800% since 2011.   
       Most of New York's natural gas is supplied via pipeline and   
       over half the residents use natural gas to heat their homes.   
       The commercial sector leads the energy demand in the state   
       followed by the residential sector and then the transportation   
       sector. New York has an estimated 14,000 mW hours of installed   
       on-shore wind capacity.
