   Brazilian social media influencer Bianca Dias died on Thursday following   
   complications from plastic surgery.   
      
   The 27-year-old social media star reportedly suffered a pulmonary   
   embolism — a risk tied to major cosmetic procedures — after experiencing   
   shortness of breath while recovering from a recent surgery at her   
   family’s house near Sao Paulo, TMZ reported.   
      
   Dias was rushed to hospital, but doctors were unable to save her.

   Giovanna Borges, a friend of the influencer, confirmed her death on   
   Instagram, writing that Dias suffered a pulmonary embolism and two   
   seizures before she died.   
      
   “Bia had surgery, and in recovery at home, she had a pulmonary clot, had   
   2 seizures, and when she arrived at the hospital, she was no longer   
   alive…..” she wrote on her Instagram story yesterday.   
      
   The influencer’s death comes just 18 days after her initial surgery —   
   though it is unclear what procedure she had done.   
      
   The Brazilian star gained popularity for documenting lifestyle and   
   modelling content on her Instagram account that boasts nearly 60,000   
   followers.   
      
   She last posted on Dec. 18, sharing a selfie taken inside of a car in   
   San Paulo.   
      
   Tributes for the influencer have flowed in the hours since her death was   
   announced — with massage therapist and close friend of Dias, Jeff   
   Carlos, taking to social media to remember his friend.   
      
   “Death is nothing at all,” he wrote. “Our bond has not been broken.”   
      
   Fellow content-creator and friend, Patrícia Ganden also took to social   
   media, penning a touching tribute on Instagram.   
      
   “I just know that we had beautiful moments, incredible conversations,   
   may God comfort the family, I will remember with much affection and   
   pride of you,” she wrote.   
      
   Local authorities have reportedly launched an investigation into the   
   circumstances surrounding her death, according to TMZ.
