   According to Democrat Results :
   >WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is suspending the
   >TSA PreCheck and Global Entry airport security programs as a partial
   >government shutdown continues.
   >
   >The programs are designed to help speed registered travelers through
   >security lines. Suspending them could cause headaches for fliers.

It's also deeply stupid since those programs let them process travellers
   vastly faster than otherwise.

I went through Global Entry in Toronto earlier this week. The woman in front
of me was not GE, took two or three minutes while he scanned her passport and
so forth. He looked at me, checked that I looked like the picture on his
screen, and I was through in ten seconds.

If they claim that they're moving GE staff to regular lines, that's a
lie since I from direct experience I saw that we end up in the same
lines talking to the same people now.

FYI they backtracked a little and say TSA Precheck will stay. Whoopeee.
