Your liberty to deny other people''s       liberties, which you've expressed often enough against any people that rub you       the wrong way because they refuse to think and be like you?       >              Hartung is just engaging in the usual right-wingnut maudlin weepy       sentimentality. It's nothing but phony patriotism — mock patriotism.       Sentimentalists like Hartung have a *need* to believe that American troops died       for some vague, emotional reason like "serving our country" or to "preserve our       liberties." It's a bullshit lie. They died in service to some *interests*       that       were chosen by men, few of whom were actually principled. But dying to serve       American economic dominance doesn't sound very noble or inspiring, does it?       Dying to protect and extend American imperialism doesn't sound any better. Yet       that's the reason they died — *all* of them.              Hartung is 100% a dupe of his political masters. They try to conceal what       they're doing behind a veil of phony patriotism, and Hartung falls for it every       time. Hartung is a stupid fucking moron, as are all the other knuckle-dragging       right-wingnuts.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
