First, it's reactive. They only attempt it in       reaction to *good* satire done by the left. They sort of go, "Oh, yeah? Yeah?       Well...your mother wears combat boots."              Second, there is always that sullen, bitter aspect to it. That just jumps out       at you and grabs you by the throat. They aren't doing it to have a laugh;       they're doing it to express their bitter, put-upon resentment.              Finally, they never aim their satire at their own side. Leftists do. SNL made       *LOADS* of fun of Jimmy Carter and both Clintons. They even aimed a little at       Obama.
