It was not "just" a riot. A riot is a       *spontaneous*, politically unfocused violent episode. The events of Jan. 06       2021 were anything *but* that.               * organized and led — Trump summoned the insurrection mob to DC with his        Dec. 19 tweet and subsequent tweets to his organized insurrection mob:               "‘Be There. Will Be Wild!’: Trump All but Circled the Date"        https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/06/us/politics/capitol-mob-t       ump-supporters.html               * political purpose — Trump's insurrection mob had a *stated* purpose        of preventing Congress from certifying Joe Biden's victory in a free, fair        and clean election. "Riots" have no such political goal. Riots:               * are spontaneous, not coordinated by presidential tweets        * have no coherent political goal               Trump's insurrection had a narrow, precise political goal, and it was not        spontaneous. It was organized, by Trump: mob summoned into existence, and        financed by his campaign. This is proved.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
