|    Hartung's latest gag: ipse dixit    |
|    04 Sep 21 12:37:18    |
XPost: alt.atheism, alt.fan.rush-limbaugh, alt.politics.usa.republican       XPost: alt.politics.democrats.d, alt.politics.trump, alt.religio       .christian.roman-catholic       XPost: alt.politics, alt.politics.democrats, alt.politics.republicans       XPost: talk.politics.guns       From: js@phendrie.con              Hartung has recently (relatively speaking) started using a new gag. He blurts       out pronouncements that he believes are authoritative simply because he blurted       them, which is the fallacy of /ipse dixit/. Recent examples:               "There was no extortion." 09/04/2021               "There has been no war of conquest."               "There was no "Trump insurrection"."               "No one is making it more difficult to vote."               "There is also no evidence of systemic racism."               "There has been no 'court packing'."               "Voting is not being restricted."               "There was no extortion."               "There is no voter suppression."               "There is no conspiracy."               "There was no insurrection."              These are trolls. They're also unsupported lies. Well-supported cases for the       contrary assertions have been made, and Hartung doesn't even attempt to refute       them analytically or with facts. He simply blurts these troll/lies.              Trump *did* attempt illegally to extort political help from Ukraine.              Republiscum legislatures *are* trying to make it more difficult for people to       vote.              The Republiscums *have* attempted to pack courts with unqualified right-wingnut       ideologues, both by gaming the rules for existing seats on the bench and by the       literal definition of court packing at the state level.              Trump *did* attempt to extort Ukrainian president Zelenskiy. Trump wanted       something that was only in his interest, not that of the U.S., and he let       Zelenskiy know that Ukraine wasn't going to get *allocated* funds unless       Zelenskiy helped Trump smear Joe Biden.              The Republiscum states' new laws making it harder to vote *are* voter       suppression. They unquestionably make it harder to vote, but impact falls       disproportionately on people who don't vote Republiscum, and that's by design.       That is textbook voter suppression.              There *was* a conspiracy leading up to January 06, and the conspiracy was to       execute an *insurrection*. There is no other word to describe a violent armed       mob trying to prevent Congress from carrying out its constitutionally mandated       certification of the electoral votes. That mob was *not* merely "trying to       make       their voices heard." They were trying to prevent the certification. It was       without question an insurrection.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
