SQL Server Database Administrator

* Evaluate, test and deploy new releases, patches, and upgrades related to the
database management system * Perform advanced database administration
including; installation, configuration, monitoring, space management, database
backup and recovery, and testing of disaster recovery procedures * Work with
developers and end users to solve problems or issues related to database
systems * Implement scripts to automate routine database administration tasks
including database restores to development, QA and stage environments *
Proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve live database systems issues *
Review database design and integration of systems and make recommendations for
enhancements or improvements * Support ETL and data warehouse initiatives *
Maintain a secure environment across all application environments including
data scrubbing * Work with the application and development teams to develop and
 optimize database designs * Write database documentation, including data
standards, procedures and definitions * Adhere to business and technical
requirements throughout the database design and development process * Performa
regular monitoring of user access and security logs * Ensure high availability
and uptime of production databases * Monitor and optimize of performance
including working with development teams to provide efficient, fast-query
responses * Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational
staff to ensure database integrity and security * Ensure backup, recovery,
archiving, and database integrity

* 3 to 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator with Microsoft SQL
Server in a production environment * Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005
and 2008 * Experience implementing scripts to automate routine database
administration tasks * Excellent written and verbal communication skills *
Education and Experience: * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related
area and 3-5+ years of experience as a DBA * Expertise with configuring,
implementing and supporting high availability SQL Server environments,
including experience with log shipping, database mirroring and failover
clustering * Experience with SSRS, SSIS and database development in Microsoft
SQL Server 2005 and 2008 * Experience in data-warehousing and BI development *
Experience managing large SQL server databases over 100 GB * Experience
managing SQL server databases in a virtualized environment * Experience with
tuning query performance, examining execution plans, using traces and other
performance diagnostic tools :
