I've noticed the same thing, I can't browse the nodelist but if I send 
netmail it does reconize the node (Found 1:229/664 as NORTHERN REALMS).

If you do stop by, there's a hidden option from the main menu to 
auto-validate:

Just hit /V from the main menu and enter the password FIDOPEEPS and you'll 
automaticly upgrade to level 20 which has posting access and 1440 minutes per 
day.  Unvalidated accounts are automaticly deleted after 30 days.
