Then, why did they have Gates back? Why was Diana Muldaur there and
gone? Why didn't they have Muldaur back after her last LA Law episode
in March 1991? Too much shuffling of Doctors? Gates did 154 episodes
while Diana did only 22. Personally, I was happy to see Dr. Pulaski
gone and Dr. Crusher back.

I thought Picard (Patrick Stewart) was fine, although he was often
written badly. Seemed like they were always on the defense, and were
running and/or trying to talk their way out of a fight, and getting
their butts kicked. One of the (briefly) refreshing things about
"Conundrum" (S5E14) was seeing them have a really decisive victory over
anybody.

Data (Brent Spiner) was one of my faves. Never cared for Deanna Troi,
though I liked her mom, Lxaxana, and what she put Picard through. It
was fun seeing Picard squirm. :-) Riker was OK, but it seemed like he
always moved like he had a two by four glued to his spine. Tasha Yar
(Denise Crosby) was awful, and I was glad to see her go. I always liked
the Worf and Data inadvertant humor. Wesley Crusher was sometimes
annoying, but nowhere near as annoying as the brats in DS9.
