Yeah, that was always the subtext with TNG. Somehow they went in 75 years
from James T. Kirk who could bring down an empire with a paper-clip and
knew *when* to violate the Prime Directive and *how* to justify it to
a mamby-pamby "therapy state" that keeps a political officer (Troi)
on the bridge and can't seem to muster the gumption to do much of anything...
