Again, we're talking about the 2009 Star Trek movie which rebooted the
franchise. This movie takes place around the time that Kirk cheats on
the Kobayashi Maru scenario, putting his graduation from Starfleet
Academy in doubt and greatly irritating Spock who is a young Academy
instructor in this movie.
