I tried to watch it and really didn't have many expectations on it. So, after
watching about half the first season I gave up. The show is quite lame. I
suppose, the root of my frustration is the lack of imagination of the
producers. If they could stop recycling old characters and bring on something
new, that would be great. They did it with Discovery.

I'd love a new star trek show to come out that focuses on the civilization
that founded the borg collective. The initial days where they weren't a
colossal threat. They'd win some and lose some. But, over the course of years,
they'd become more and more borg-like. And maybe we'd learn that not all of
the people agree with their direction and splinter off.

Or, I'd totally dig a show focusing on Cardassians. 
There are so many directions they can go in star trek without recycling the
old characters. My ideas could really be lame, but I"m not a hollywood writer.
