I think we can all agree that Star Trek II was a great story... but I had one
of those 'what if' moments. 

Recall-- Kirk and the Enterprise are investigating the Reliant. No reply on
the comm. Savik starts quoting regulation about what should happen when
communication has not been established. Spock shushes her. 

How do you think things would have played out if Kirk raised the shields
before the Reliant could attack?
Further, while they are closely matched in fire power, Kirk still has the ace
of taking control of Reliant and dropping shields. 

It kind of makes me think how Khan, being of superior intellect would have
reacted. 

Has anyone thought of the possible outcomes here?
